In the last few months, the flood situation has worsened in the haor area of Kishoreganj due to unseasonal rains and hill slopes coming down from the upper reaches. The water level of all the rivers in the haor area is still rising. As a result, several villages have been submerged. People in these areas, which have been under water for six months of the year, have lost their only crop in the floods and are now in dire straits, making life very difficult.
